Apple Bread Pudding

I prepared this bread pudding for our breakfast. Some people prepare this for desserts but for me i made this either for breakfast or afternoon tea, coz for me its quite heavy for dessert. I have a few bread pudding recipes in my collections & my collections is not include what i saw on tv or magazine, so i think actually the most important is the basic ingredients for bread pudding then after that u can add any fruits, dried fruits, herbs & use any type of bread. As for me, this time i used my leftover doughnuts. Usually i used plain bread, & serve it with custard sauce, but since we have leftover doughnuts & apples in our fridge, so i made this apple bread pudding & serve with whipped cream. Here the recipe...

Apple Bread Pudding

A
  • 400 ml fresh milk
  • 5 doughnuts
B
  • 4 tbsp caster sugar
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla essence
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch
  • 1 tsp cinnamon (optional)
  • 1 tsp nutmeg (optional)
C
  • 1 apple - cut into small pieces (i used granny smith)
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon
  • 3 tbsp brown sugar
D
  • Whipped Cream
Cut doughnuts into a small pieces & add milk & let it soak up for 1/2 an hour.
In a sauce pan, melt the butter & leave it to cool.
In a small bowl, add melted butter and all ingredients B & mix until well blended.
Pour the butter mixture into the bread mixture & mix until well combined (u can add raisin if u want) & set aside.
In the sauce pan above medium heat, add all ingredients C & cook the apple until soft.
To assemble, in a baking pan, put half of bread mixture in the bottom & layered with half of apple mixture & top with balance bread mixture & baked for 30 minutes at 180C.
Serve this bread pudding with balance apple mixture & whipped cream.
