Caramel Corn

I made this last weekend just because we failed to get a Transformers movie ticket hahahah...We planned to watch this movie last week but of course with 3 small kids, we tried to get a really strategic seat just in case our kids need to go to the bathroom, so we can bring them without interrupting anybody else. My older son really looking forward for this movie, but my daughter, i think she's looking forward for the popcorn heheh...so i made this for her & she ate it straight away...see...i told u...she's really looking forward for the popcorn :). Here the recipe...

Caramel Corn
  • 3 tbsp canola oil
  • 1/3 cup popcorn kernels
  • Salt to taste
Heat the oil in a big size covered saucepan on medium high heat.
Take 1 popcorn kernel & put it into the saucepan & wait until the kernel pop.
Add in the rest of the popcorn kernels & make sure all kernels covered with oil & in an even layer.
Cover with the lid & the popcorn start to pop. Wait until it stop popping, remove from the heat & immediately dump the popcorn into a wide bowl.

Caramel (This depends on how much popcorn u prepared)
  • 7 tbsp sugar
  • 2 tbsp water
  • 100 gm butter
In a small saucepan, put in sugar & water.
Heat the sugar mixture on medium heat (do not stir, just swirl the pan) until the sugar melted & change into golden in color.
Remove from the heat, immediately add butter & whisk until the butter has melted.
Immediately, pour the caramel into a popcorn & stir until all popcorn is coated.
Spread the popcorn into a sheet pan to make sure the popcorn didn't stick together.
