Ginger Scallion Beef

U know, i start to like chinese food since i start working after i graduated from college. Coz, every company i joined so far, majority staff in the finance department is a chinese. Like now, i'm the only malay in this finance department. They introduced me with their food and their culture & i really2 like their food, its simple and not too spicy. Soy sauce always used in their recipes & i found a lot of recipes using it whether its dark or light soy sauce. This ginger beef is one of my favorites. Thank god i found this recipe in Ellie's blog. Thank Ellie for this recipe & i definitely going to make this again...

Ginger Scallion Beef
  • 600g beef, thinly sliced
  • 4 stalks scallion
  • 100g ginger, sliced
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp cornflour
  • 1 tbsp oil
  • Salt & white pepper
  • Splash of sesame oil
Marinate beef slices with soy sauce, cornflour and oil for 15-30 minutes.
Heat 1 tbsp of oil in a wok under high heat until smoking hot.
Add sliced ginger and give it a quick stir for a minute.
Add beef and scallions and quickly stir fry for a further 1-2 minutes until the beef turned brown and just cooked and scallions are slightly wilted.
Season with salt and white pepper and add a splash of sesame oil. Mix well and serve immediately with steamed rice.
