Sweet Sour Fish


I seldom bought a fish fillet. Most of my seafood dishes at home required whole fish. But lately, since i started this blog, i found out that fish fillet are really easy to use, but i am still a big fan of whole fish tho..but sometimes i just don't want to deal with the fish bones every times i had to feed my kids. See that picture..yeah i know, u barely see the fish ahahah...that's because i add a lot of vegie on top. Ok..here the recipe...

Sweet Sour Fish

  • 3 fish fillets, cubed
  • 1 tsp ground turmeric
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch
  • 3 shallots, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, finely chopped
  • 1/2" ginger, thinly slices
  • 1/2 onion, cubed
  • 1 tomato, cubed
  • 1 capsicum, cubed
  • 4 button mushrooms, slices
  • 1/2 carrot, thinly slices
  • 2 tbsp chili sauce
  • 2 tbsp ketchup
  • Salt & sugar to taste
  • Oil for frying
Place cubed fish fillet into a bowl, add in pinch of salt, turmeric & cornstarch. Mix until well combine.
Preheat enough oil for deep frying in a wok over medium heat. Fry marinated fish fillets until golden brown, set aside.
Reduce the oil & left around 2 tbsp, stir fry shallots, garlic, ginger & onion until soft 7 fragrance.
Add in chili sauce, ketchup & all the vegie, stir fry until the vegie slightly tender.
Pour the vegie mixture on top of the cooked fish.
Serve hot with steamed rice.
