Apple Crumble Pie


Salam all,

Last month was my younger sister engagement ceremony. 1 week before the ceremony, my mom so worried about the food. Actually nothing was wrong with the food, but mom being a mom worried about whether the food is enough for everybody & she ask me to make something additional to our buffet line.

Well, i decided to make a very simple dessert then i choose to bake apple crumble pie. I used different recipe for short crust pastry, but for the filling, i used my recipe here. As for the engagement  ceremony, everything went well & the food was enough for everybody hehehe. Told ya mom!! :)

Apple Crumble Pie

Crust
  • 190g flour
  • 40g caster sugar
  • 1/4 salt
  • 120g cold butter, cut into small cube
  • 1 egg yolk
Filling
Crumble
  • 150g plain flour
  • 40 sugar
  • 1/4 salt
  • 75 g butter
To make crust, combined flour, sugar & salt. Rub in butter, add in egg yolk to form a dough. Refrigerated.
Roll out dough & press into pie mould. Trim off edge, spoon in filling.
To make crumble, combined flour, sugar & salt. Rub in butter until resembles bread crumb. Sprinkle on top of pie.
Baked on preheated oven at 180C for 25 to 30 minutes.
